Red Rose Taverne plant based breakfast review at Disneyland Park

Red Rose Taverne plant based breakfast review at Disneyland Park

By Jenna Caron

Disneyland park has some incredible quick service dining options. I actually prefer the quick service dining to the table service at the Disneyland Resort! Red Rose Taverne is themed to Beauty and the Beast, so I knew I would love the environment without even trying the food. There's something about sitting in the sunshine and listening to "be our guest" that just puts me in a better mood!

While the breakfast menu isn't extensive - I think it has something for everyone (including non plant based eaters). This location often offers seasonal and/or festival sippers. When I was there in April, I got a princess Belle sipper (because how could I not). Currently there are magic key sippers available, as well as a pixar fest travel tumbler.

I had the "Little Town Harvest Bowl" and let me tell you - I DREAM about re-creating this bowl at home! It's arguably one of the best quick service meals I've had at ANY Disney theme park. The bowl has quinoa, roasted mushrooms and cauliflower, arugula, tomato, taverne potato bites and spicy lime aioli. This bowl is also gluten free! I don't know what Disneyland does to their tater tots, but they are ELITE. The crunch from the potatoes, warmth of the quinoa and mushrooms, and spice of the aioli is a perfect combo. If I could eat breakfast here every day, I totally would!

Other breakfast items include: the gourmet breakfast sandwich (Herb blend and Creme Fraiche Egg, Maple Butter Spread, Muenster and crispy Bacon on a Brioche-style Bun, served with Taverne Potato Bites), royal chiffon pancakes (served with Guava-Strawberry Sauce and choice of Bacon, Sausage or Taverne Potato Bites), and the Bonjour! Breakfast (Scrambled Eggs served with Taverne Potato Bites, Bacon and Sausage). There are also plenty of soft serve drinks and coffees to keep you hydrated.

I know that I encourage my guests to mobile order whenever possible to save time. When you have allergies, you cannot mobile order if you want to speak to a chef to ensure that you can have a menu item. So, the first time that I got this bowl - I couldn't mobile order it since I needed to ensure it was gluten free. Once I confirmed this, I went back twice more and could mobile order at that time. If you have allergies, ALWAYS check with a chef before ordering a menu item. Then, once you know it's safe, you can mobile order it in the future. It's worth waiting the extra time to speak to a chef to ensure your safety.

Red Rose Taverne is a must do for me at Disneyland. I know that I will be back on my next visit. Have you eaten here before? What's your favorite menu item?
